Decisions of the ITMA members meeting on 29 April 2009, Museum voor Communicatie, Zeestraat 82, 2518 AD den Haag. Chair: Wiebo Brouwer.

Present: Ulf Bjornstig, Wiebo Brouwer, Lars Englund, Leonard Evans, Abdel Hay Mashhour, Morris Odell, Alberto Jose Silveira, Sang Wan Lee, Zheng-guo Wang, Daniela Schillaci, Mrs Mashhour.

All decisions were taken with unanimous vote.

1. Wiebo Brouwer resigns as ITMA president and in agreement with the ITMA bylaws, he is succeeded immediately by Lars Englund (president-elect). Wiebo Brouwer now holds the office of immediate past president, succeeding Leonard Evans.
2. Catarina Lundberg resigns as ITMA secretary and is thanked by the board for her services. The office of secretary will be held temporarily by Wiebo Brouwer.
3. Kurt Johansson is continued in the office as ITMA treasurer.
4. A new office is created in the ITMA executive executive committee, namely "president emeritus". Leonard Evans is appointed in that office. With Leonard in the executive committee ITMA can keep its legal address at his home address as a registered tax-exempt charity under the laws of the state of Michigan and the USA.
5. The financial reports of 2007 and 2008 are not discussed as the treasurer could not attend and there is no urgency.
6. It was decided not to raise the membership fee. A risk was felt that this might further reduce membership. The executive board will study possibilities to reduce the costs of TIP.
7. It was decided to continue the talks with the AAAM and other sister organizations about opportunities for combining activities to reduce costs and increase membership value. Lars Englund will take the initiative here.
8. A committee consisting of Lars Englund, Abdel Hay Hashour, Morris Odell and Zhenguo Wang will prepare new nominations for president-elect and a regional director for Africa. They will also consult with other directors about future prospects. The regional directors present have confirmed their board membership but some are thinking about finding a successor.
9. The decision was confirmed that the 22nd international congress of the ITMA will be prepared and organized by Professor Zhengguo Wang and coworkers of the Institute of Traffic Medicine of the 3rd military University in Chongqing, P.R of China . As preliminary date for the congress, they propose May 2011. It was decided that the ITMA president and secretary will write an official letter to professor Wang to confirm the intentions
